Jodie Howarth - Business Development Manager

In this week’s Meet the Team we chat to Jodie Green, our Business Development Manager for our Furniture Division here at Ultimate. Read on to get to know Jodie a bit better and find out what lesson she would teach her younger self about work….

1. Let’s start from the beginning. In brief, describe the role of your job at Ultimate and what you do?

My role at Ultimate is Business Development Manager for the Furniture Division, I am responsible for finding, negotiating and closing new furniture business opportunities within all sectors, whilst maximising the company’s exposure and profile within the UK.

2. All things considered, what type of work is most likely to spark the fire in your brain? What is your dream project?

My dream project would involve having the freedom to really push the boundaries with the design, and working with a customer that is willing to challenge the normal working environment.

3. When all the hard work is over, what is the most satisfying aspect of your job at Ultimate?

A happy customer – without a doubt the most rewarding part of the job after putting in a lot of effort throughout a project.

4. If you could send out just one message that sums up your industry, what would you say?

Challenging, but rewarding! I love that you never know what a new day will bring.

5. If you could teach one lesson to your younger self about your area of work, what would it be?

Listen and learn from those around you, the knowledge you are surrounded with every day is invaluable.

6. When a project presents you with a difficult challenge, what is your ‘go-to’ tactic for tackling it?

Utilise the team around you to help tackle the challenge, organise your time and make sure that you can deliver the solution the customer needs.

7. Finally, at the end of a long working week, what does your perfect weekend involve?

Spending time with my family and friends, good food and good wine, and a long walk with my dog, Kimber.
