On Monday 20th February, Skipton Building Society officially launched The Atrium. Originally an outdoor courtyard in the centre of The Bailey, it has now been transformed into an indoor multi-functional space to promote employee collaboration. Our furniture installation of soft seating, tables, chairs and AV equipment has helped create an appealing environment.  Staff wellbeing is a highly regarded factor of Skipton Building Society’s vision, being listed as one of the UK’s ‘Top 100 Best Companies to Work For’ for the third year running.

Ivan Le Roux, Head of Group Insurance explained “We set out with a plan to create a light modern and flexible space for our colleagues to use and Ultimate helped bring those plans to life.”

Our team installed furniture pieces from Boss Design and The Senator Group. The flexible modular soft furnishings that we selected from Boss Design’s, Myriad collection have been arranged in a chain along the ground floor, creating a sociable space within The Atrium. Along with the installation of furniture, video conferencing equipment was also installed to the private meeting rooms by Form Installations. This has created an adaptable and invaluable workspace that can be rearranged in endless layout configurations.

We employed This Is Interiors to design the interior scheme which we then brought to life. Together, we have created a space that people can use for informal meetings or breaks, providing acoustic seating booths, tub chairs and sofas. Ivan told us, “The result is we now have a space which enables colleagues to approach their work in different ways, creating the right environment for effective and efficient working, enabling great conversations and connecting colleagues across the organisation to help us achieve our vision of building a better Society.”

Following the Internal Launch, we had the pleasure of attending the official opening in which one of Skipton Building Society’s valued customers had been asked to cut the ribbon. Dr Brian Boffey shared with us his life achievements, most notably his accidental invention of the ‘Jelly Tots’ while working as a young scientist at Rowntree’s.

Our commitment to our clients and uncompromising attention to detail has led to multiple repeat projects and recommendations. We are currently working on Skipton Building Society’s Café and will be sharing images of the exciting project soon.
