Following an introduction from one of our existing clients, Ultimate were requested to submit a Turnkey Fit-Out and Furniture Proposal for B Gallagher’s new Head Quarters in Leeds. Working with one of our design partners we developed their brief to create a better workplace that encapsulated spaces to focus, collaborate, socialise and learn.
The environment that we created invited the team to enter the building through a ‘Meet and Greet’ style Reception Area with signing in station and biophilic moss wall with company logo. From the ground floor the staircase, with bespoke handrail and feature wall paper, takes you to the First Floor Office Space.
We had observed that the team at B Gallagher have high-performing, hyper-collaborative teams working across the North on constructions sites, where visible information was key and hence a furniture system that allows for greater flexibility and mobility was required. The Steelcase Flex solution fitted the brief completely, as this gives the team the flexibility and control to adapt their space on demand to meet their rapidly changing activities.
As the building was a new build the interior scheme was shaped around the skeleton of the building and key features were added, for example, wood and concrete effect wallpaper and alternate angles that then suited with the floor finishes of carpet and vinyl.
Ultimate also designed and developed the lighting, heat and cooling system and mechanical fresh air ventilation, which is partly powered by solar panels, again specified, and install by Ultimate. The key for the functionality of the office is the positions of power and data to support the various work patterns.
Quiet focused working is facilitated by individual offices with enhanced acoustics and further bespoke finishing detail to support to biophilic nature of the open office.
