We were approached by the owners of Bizzie Lizzie’s Fish and Chip shop after someone recommended us to them. We designed and created a brand new café style eating area to complement their existing Skipton restaurant.
We are big fans of Bizzie Lizzie’s award winning fish and chips so couldn’t wait to get started on this tasty project! Famous not just in Skipton, Bizzie Lizzie’s is a family run fish and chip restaurant which began way back in 1986!
The name of this famous Yorkshire restaurant came from one of their customers who suggested using founder Jean’s middle name ‘Lizzie’ and added that they wanted the restaurant to be ‘busy’ so with a small amount of poetic licence ‘Bizzie Lizzie’s’ was born.
Bizzie Lizzie’s are well known for serving delicious fish and chips made with the finest ingredients and in 1999 they won the National Fish and Chip Awards! A family owned business there are now three generations working at Bizzie Lizzie’s. They decided it was time for an update in their 80 seater Skipton restaurant which is where we came in.
We couldn’t wait to get stuck in to this project and began by producing several plans of the area that they wanted redesigning, before producing detailed 3D visuals of what the new eating area would look like for the client to approve.
We provided all of the new floor finishes, carried out bespoke joinery, added in new fixed seating including fixed bench seating and finished off the new area with stylish lose furniture and striking new industrial style light fittings. We added some quirky fish and chip facts to the walls including this fascinating fact; ‘British fish and chip shops serve over 247 million portions of fish and chip meals each year’ we also added contemporary black and white photography to the walls for the final touch.
If you are ever visiting Skipton or just passing through, we urge you to visit this fantastic and friendly restaurant. Built alongside the beautiful Leeds and Liverpool canal you can watch the colorful narrow boats chug by as you tuck into their award winning fish & chips!
