Brand Spotlight: Brunner

brunner_slimSetting out to complete an order declined by their previous employer, Brunner’s foundations were built on the notion of making the impossible possible. Powered by a VW Bulli van and passion for redefining boundaries, Rolf and Helena Brunner established their company in 1977 and pride themselves on providing pieces largely hand-made in Germany.

Intrigued by innovation, they continue to develop an innately versatile product range of chairs, tables and contract furniture for both commercial and public spaces. By combining state-of-the-art methods with traditional craftsmanship, their designs encapsulate a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality, benefitting from the rich, industrial history and manufacturing expertise of German culture.

The use of clean, linear designs allows their furniture to make a statement without reducing the impact of surrounding architecture; a prime example being their Chorin Abbey project. Brunner equipped said gothic-style, 13th century abbey with 1,330 A-Chair stacking chairs which are connectable and suitable for outdoor deployment. The lava colour chosen for this project corresponds with the surrounding brickwork without detracting from the historic ambience.
