Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery from site set-up to final close-out, including snags and client handover.
- Develop and manage a detailed programme of works and procurement schedule at project outset, keeping them updated throughout the project.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with project specification, quality expectations, and client requirements.
- Lead weekly progress reviews, ensure daily records and reporting are maintained, including site diaries, delivery notes, labour, plant, and variations.
- Review, track, and report progress against programme, identifying risks, delays, or scope creep early and implementing solutions.
- Liaise closely with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure financial status of the project is accurate, risks are managed, and variations are captured.
- Manage prelim budgets, labour resourcing, and site logistics efficiently.
- Chair site meetings, including coordination meetings with subcontractors, client walkthroughs, and SHEQ updates.
- Monitor the performance and compliance of subcontractors, resolving conflicts and underperformance where required.
- Maintain safety standards and site housekeeping, ensuring all RAMS are adhered to and toolbox talks/inductions are conducted as needed.
- Ensure statutory inspections, permit, and record keeping are in place.
- Develop and maintain effective client relationships, acting as the main point of contact on-site, representing the business professionally at all times.

- Look after company assets including plant, tools, equipment, and accommodation.
- Promote and ensure compliance with all legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Drive quality by understanding and applying the Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) across the works.
- Ensure clear and timely communication, using the project management systems (e.g. Vision+, SharePoint) to track actions and keep documentation live.
- Provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager and escalate risks that could affect programme, cost, or safety.
- Actively support the career development of junior staff and engage in coaching where relevant.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a similar Project Manager or Senior Site Manager role within the fit-out or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and delivery coordination.
- Proven ability to lead and manage site teams and subcontractors.
- Commercially aware and comfortable working with budget controls and contract terms.
- Strong understanding of H&S regulations, including CDM, RAMS, and permits to work.
- Able to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Computer literate – MS Office suite and site/project management software.
- CSCS card (black or equivalent), SMSTS, First Aid at Work.
