Turner & Townsend

Ultimate were approached by Turner & Townsend with the brief to reinvent the workplace for their Nottingham team. Post COVID, the management team were moving from their outdated space to a brand new environment and were looking to encourage staff back to the office. There were to be no walls – we were to create a ‘hot desking’ multi-functional space that would suit up to 100 members of staff in the city centre.

Historically, Turner & Townsend has worked in a traditional way with desks for everyone, a closed kitchen/communal area and a reception. Ultimate completely turned this around and created a welcoming open café/work lounge at the entrance of their new space to service both staff and visitors adding biophilic elements and acoustic booths, as well as a large island within the breakout area and a sitting area.

Moving through into the main office, we have created an open plan office space that incorporates soft seating, privacy booths, desking, multi-functional collaborative spaces and storage with a colour scheme that is bright and engaging. One of the highlights of this décor is a vibrant palm tree scene wallpaper which really catches the eye and gives the full scheme a lift.

Meeting rooms have been kept to a minimum with only one conventional boardroom incorporating comfortable seating and a large screen as well as a small yet purposeful meeting room at the rear of the office.

Thank you Ultimate for all your effort and support in getting us into our new office. Our staff love the new workspace and are really embracing the new collaborative ways of working. It’s a great place to work in.
