If you’ve been asked to sort out the layout in your office, the chances are you may be experiencing something of a sinking feeling at the prospect of what might seem like a hugely daunting task!
With this in mind, we thought we’d pass on a few of our top-tips which will hopefully make things a little easier!
To be able to improve the layout of your office successfully, you need to start by taking a good look at what you already have. One of the best ways to do this is to create a space plan and once finished, you’ll find that your space place will prove very useful! Without a space plan it’s virtually impossible to make effective improvements and the place should be measured and drawn up as accurately as possible. You can, of course, use a pen and paper to create your plan but there’s a wide range of CAD (Computer Aided Design) software packages available. The beauty of using one of these packages is that they allow you to draw up your plans just like an architect would, including every single detail, such as the height and width of windows, the location of data and power sockets etc.
Don’t forget to include everything that will take up any space in your plan, for example alcoves and columns as failure to add these can cause major problems at a later date. It’s also important to take careful measurements of any office furniture that you’re planning on re-using to make sure that it’ll all fit within your new design.
