We are delighted to have worked alongside Silverstone LLP to deliver Eldon Insurance’s fit-out at their new base at No 2 St James Gate, St James Boulevard, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Taking over 21,000sqft of space it is currently the largest Newcastle city centre letting so far this year and doubles the amount of space Eldon had in their previous premises at Cale Cross House.
The firm, which also has offices in Southampton and Bristol has been based locally at Cale Cross House in Newcastle for the last 10 years, where it employs around 250 people. However, the new space now gives Eldon the capacity to take on at least a further 50 more employees.
Eldon provides insurance services under the brands GoSkippy, Footprint, Debenhams and Business Choice Direct, and has seen steady growth on the back of focused investment on its brokerage brands, with its latest accounts, for 2015, showing turnover rising by 10% to £33.6m.
In a recent local publication Melanie Bebbington, Claims Operations Director at Eldon Insurance, said the new premises will help accommodate further growth, as well as boost facilities for staff.
She said: “We’ve been in Cale Cross House for 10 years and we’ve come to the end of our lease and wanted to find somewhere a little more modern.
The south western gateway to the city is a perfect location to improve our profile and we are in excellent company with other service providers such as RSM, Watson Burton and the Big Lottery Fund. Our fit-out demonstrates our belief that good quality working space is essential to retain, and attract staff and encourage productive output.”
