We clearly made an impression on Skipton Building Society when we fitted out their Leeds Branch some eight years ago, because they asked us to tender the works again for the new prototype branch scheme designed and created by RBS Architects of Saltaire.
With over 160 years of experience in the financial sector they have a rich heritage which we wanted to reflect whilst still giving them a refreshingly modern branch to work from.
RBS Architects designed the new scheme to incorporate curved glass partitions and acoustic client pods, specifically designed to give their customers privacy. The bright purple colour schemes used in this scheme was not only tied in with lights on reception, breaking up the white walls with a pop of colour, but also matched the Skipton Building Society’s new branding for a sense of continuity.
Elsewhere, we fitted bespoke furniture, decorations and upgraded their lighting. The result was a clean, crisp and welcoming space for customers.
We set to work, as we always do, with their staff and customers in mind. During the project we worked in the evenings and over the weekends to avoid disturbing customers. It meant the branch could stay open as normal during the day with limited disruption. It was a challenge at times, but one that we’re well-rehearsed for, we pride ourselves on careful planning to ensure that if necessary a business can remain open throughout a project. This was also necessary during our large scale Mercure Hotel project in Sheffield.
Although Skipton Building Society have 95 UK branches, their newest home in Leeds is certainly our favourite. You can take a more detailed look at the new branch and more images from the project over on our case study page.
