Project Completion: Archway Veterinary Practice

Following 50 years at their previous practice, Archway moved to a brand-new, state of the art building in June 2019. Within the new building there is a reception/shop area, a separate dog and cat waiting room, a cat consultation room, three dog consultation rooms (kept separate from feline friends), a bereavement room, laboratory, a dog and cat ward, an exotic animal ward, two high spec theatre rooms, a dental suite, an imaging suite, large animal treatment room, meeting room, a nurse resting room and the vets office. The physiotherapy section of the practice also features a hydrotherapy pool.

Their architect was the award winning ‘Alex Darvill’ from ACD Projects. Alex specialises in a wide range of animal welfare projects and has many equine and veterinary clients. He has over 45 years’ experience within the construction industry and has been awarded Building Manager of the Year and the Gold award for the Chartered Institute of Building National UK Buildings Manager of the year. Alex designed the surgery for the practice to an exceedingly high standard.

We designed and manufactured two reception counters and planned the ‘in waiting’ furniture within the clinic with the seating upholstered in the latest Camira Halycon fabric. This fabric is antimicrobial so prevents microorganisms from growing on the fabric. We also designed the administration office and the practice managers offices for Jeremy and Mandy. Mandy’s office features an electric height adjustable desk with a bespoke side-return. Beautifully finished, we added two counters (one for the main veterinary surgery and one for the physiotherapy section) and used grey tops with multiplex edging. We chose fabric and furniture which has longevity and durability for a challenging work environment.
