This month, CEG moved into their new offices at their first flagship office development – Number One, Kirkstall Forge.
Our fit-out spans 10,000 sq ft at the £400m Kirkstall Forge development and has incorporated the installation of high quality bespoke joinery, lighting, feature flooring and ceilings throughout the office area along with the communal Butler’s Coffee – Bar – Kitchen, and business lounge.
The stunning scheme, designed by Space Invader, reflects the high-standards of developer, CEG. Director, Dan Platt, told us: “We are extremely proud to have secured this contract with CEG allowing us the opportunity to work on a such a significant development. Almost 10,000 people will live, work and form a community at the Kirkstall Forge site, completely transforming the area with a wealth of benefits and we are very excited to be a part of this.”
Butler’s, fittingly named after the six generations of family that managed the forge from 1779, will serve the 1,000 employees within the office development, rail users, visitors as well as the future residential community. It will operate as a deli and restaurant during the day and a bar concept in the evening and is hoped a doorstep delivery service will be introduced for residents in the future. There will also be a ‘Click and Collect’ facility for the Butler’s restaurant and hospitality menu and dry cleaning for residents and office workers.
Once complete the development will deliver a thriving mixed-use community in a unique wooded, riverside setting. Ultimately, it will comprise of 1,050 new homes, 300,000 sq ft of offices and 100,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and community space. A new dedicated railway station opened in 2016 connecting the site to Leeds City Centre in 6 minutes as well as opening links to Bradford, the Yorkshire Dales and connections to Manchester.
