Not only a great project for Ultimate (Commercial Interiors) Ltd to deliver, but also another fantastic success story for North East business.
Since the delivery of the initial project on the first floor at Quayside House last year, the company have subsequently expanded their team again to secure the first floor and increase their overall headcount to potentially over 130 staff.
This company take great pride in providing a working environment to retain and attract the best calibre of staff within their field and this is certainly reflected in the brief, design and delivery of this project.
The work carried out on the first floor includes a full CAT A refurbishment that benefits from fully air-conditioned with LED lighting. The space has been enhanced with feature graphic wall coverings and generous sized individual workstations, hot desking and a designated lounge area.
The breakout area includes state of the art drinks machines, dining and soft seating areas and with staff well being in mind is sited at the front of the property where it delivers the best views over the River Tyne.
One of the highlights of this project is the transformation of the central atrium. Which was previously an unused space designed to provide natural light to central parts of the property. This space has been totally transformed with a bespoke glass, steel and timber staircase to link their new ground floor home to their existing first floor offices.
The atrium has been designed not just a mechanism for staff moving internally between floors but also to act as a space to work, meet and relax. To provide privacy from the tenants on the upper floors, a feature sail has been installed above the staircase and to combat issues with sound reverberation acoustic panels and living wall with inset vertical LED lighting has been introduced.
The external theme is continued with a timber bench seat with inset planters and Interface second nature plank carpet tiles.
