Trimble
Trimble is a technology company that provides advanced positioning, modelling and data analytics solutions for industries like construction, agriculture, geospatial and transportation to improve productivity and efficiency. Located on Forth Street in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Trimble wanted to breathe new life into their office space, making it a place that truly reflected their brand and encouraged employees to return after the pandemic.
The old layout felt outdated, with fixed desks, traditional meeting rooms and lots of unused circulation space. Working alongside design partner Cocoon and Bauer, Ultimate created a design that centred around an open breakout area, which became the heart of the office. From this central hub, meeting zones, presentation spaces and work booths flowed, offering a more flexible and collaborative environment. The design also took inspiration from the building’s unique angles, creating a layout that was visually engaging and far more interesting than the previous setup.
The old office didn’t really feel like a Trimble space, it was missing their identity. The bland colours and outdated design didn’t reflect the company’s innovative spirit. To solve this, we brought Trimble’s branding into the design with custom wall vinyls, carefully chosen paint colours, and fabrics that echoed their corporate identity, giving the space a more personal touch. Sustainability was also at the forefront. Carbon-neutral / negative flooring materials were selected, sustainable fabrics and eco-friendly furniture, ensuring that the office fit-out aligned with Trimble’s values and commitment to the environment.
The result is a vibrant, functional and sustainable workspace that truly represents Trimble’s brand.
