At Ultimate we’ve come a long way since we first set up back in 2002. Having worked very closely with a number of designers, architects and clients on projects of all shapes and sizes, we’ve managed to build a reputation as a trusted industry specialist, consultant and contractor. Something we’re very proud of.

Originally set up by Mark Hickey and Mark Naisbitt, our speedy growth led to the addition of Dan Platt as new company director in 2007, aimed at expanding our horizons to the North West and developing new business nationwide.

Now with thirteen years in the business as a New Year approaches, we’re delighted to announce the opening of our third brand new regional office at the Northern Design Centre near Newcastle!

Our new office means we now have offices in Yorkshire, the North East and the North West at Salford Quays, Manchester.

Needless to say it has been an exciting year for us, topped off by the addition of three new apprentices, as well as Associate Director Steve Cowley to help us push forward.

Reflecting on what has been a hectic but successful year here at Ultimate, let’s revisit a handful of the projects we’ve seen completed.

We gave Pure Data a brand new home in Leeds. It was really rewarding to be a part of the success of this growing IT business. Another recent Leeds project was the St Phillips Chambers in Park Square, a full refurbishment and turn-key interior fit out.

The St Paul’s Mercure Hotel in Sheffield City Centre also received an overhaul, we were tasked with the complete refurbishment of 163 bedrooms, lounge, restaurant, bar and reception – all while the hotel remained open.

When briefed with a full scale design and build for California based software company Couchbase, we knew how important it was going to be to live up to and exceed all expectations. This four week project saw a full mechanical and electrical installation in Manchester’s prestigious Sevendale House, complete with graphic artwork in the form of an ‘Album Cover Wall’ a nod to Manchester’s long and varied musical history.

With the Newcastle office up and running in time for Christmas, and the success of the Darlington Building Society project under our belt, we hope it will spell the first of many success stories from the North East of England.

Here’s to the beginning of another varied and successful year both for Ultimate and our wonderful clients and partners.
