Brand Spotlight : Orangebox Remade
With more awareness for the environment and more care being taken to look after the earth for future generations, there has been a significant rise in sustainable interior design and architecture. Commercial spaces are now seeking to minimise any negative impacts that certain buildings can have on the environment. When it comes to office design, there should be a consideration for the existing furniture and whether it can be reused or re-purposed. Purchasing recycled furniture can save energy, electricity and the fuel which is needed for the manufacturing process.
Office furniture supplier – Orangebox have come up with Remade, which enables products which are reaching the end of their commercial lifespan to be given a second chance by being fully restored and sold with a brand-new warranty matching that of a new product. This new solution sets an important marker for the future of manufacturing which hopefully more brands within all sectors will start to incorporate to prevent the ‘throw away’ culture.
The very first product to be offered under Orangebox Remade is the G64 which is a durable and stylish office task chair. There is a whole G64 family which caters from office environments such as call centres right up to executive offices and is available in a wide variety of fabrics and colours, which has allowed this task chair to become one of Europe’s most successful task chairs. The remade version of G64 offers all the benefits and ergonomic advantages of a brand new G64 product but with impressive environmental and cost savings included. 98% of the G64 – R’s parts are recyclable with the removed components either being kept for reuse or returned for material processing. Each re-manufactured chair delivers a 60% reduction in CO2 emissions and saves 75% of water consumption compared to a new G64 chair.
