Roles & Responsibilities:
As an adept Estimator, you’ll be at the forefront of our commercial endeavours. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, you will:
- Prepare meticulous cost estimates that underpin our projects’ financial success.
- Organise bids, engage with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors to determine project financial needs.
- Utilize your fit-out industry experience to provide detailed project estimates, encompassing labour, plant, material build-ups, and preliminaries.
- Thrive amidst fast-paced, dynamic projects, offering your expertise on high-value, fast-track schemes up to £3 million.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective cost and commercial management during pre-construction and contract phases.
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Be a key participant in tender presentations, offering your commercial prowess.
- Craft budget and preliminary build-ups during proposal stages, collating comprehensive proposal documents.
- Develop concept budgets and detailed cost plans, ensuring alignment with clients’ needs.
- Efficiently manage multiple proposals and estimations, meeting client deadlines with finesse.
- Collaborate seamlessly with various company departments, fostering innovation and profitable outcomes.
- Drive subcontractor engagement and manage the subcontracting process.
- Navigate supplier and subcontractor proposals and costs, ensuring accuracy and value.
- Conduct insightful site inspections, assessing risks and uncovering untapped opportunities.
- Engage in client, owner, and stakeholder meetings, contributing to project success.
- Deliver bids promptly for tender closings and lead detailed contract handover meetings.
Personal Attributes & Experience:
- A professional and proactive approach, backed by a strong track record of successful estimations.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to negotiate effectively both internally and externally.
- Experience working with blue-chip contractors, adding depth to your industry insights.
- A methodical and organised nature, coupled with the adaptability to work individually and as a cohesive team player.
- Ability and experience of successfully producing under pressure with excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail, great investigator, who is motivated to develop supplier relationships.
- A team member who is switched on to producing the best possible, timely service with passion and enthusiasm.
