Project Completion: Codemasters

We recently completed and delivered an amazing 16,500 sqft office fit-out and furniture project for our historic and BAFTA award-winning client, Codemasters. We turned their building into high specification, luxury office accommodation which included a new gymnasium and bathroom refurbishment. Working closely with our design partners, we created a truly amazing working environment for a 200-person Quality Control department.

Our project consisted of CAT A and CAT B works and we delivered a turnkey fit out that included interior design, solid and glazed partitioning, flooring, ceilings, bespoke joinery, acoustic treatments, kitchens, tea points and a complete new M&E installation including state of the art LED lighting. We also undertook the complete furniture supply and install.

An eye-catching and bespoke pit-stop flooring graphic guides you through their newly refurbished entrance where you’re met by a full-size, bold red 3D Air Fix wall feature. This particularly stands out against the specified concrete effect wallpaper that carries through to the adjoining meeting room. Codemasters’ branding is continued with a manifestation of their logo and tyre track detailing to the glazed screen surround.

Mobili’s Pyramid Steel was specified for their meeting room table with a black work surface and contrasting ply edge detailing. The reverse is seen in their storage unit which features an oak top and graphite unit fronts. OE Electrics’ integrated PRISM power module provides additional functionality and maintains uncluttered cable management with a flush closed surround. Cooper meeting chairs from Senator boast beautifully contoured and quilted navy upholstery with curved lines for added comfort.

Striking full height wall graphics feature to the ground floor’s main office space which includes live action F1 pit-stop imagery and on location Motorsport shots embedded within a bespoke Codemasters branded ‘film reel’. Alongside Interface’s Diffuse flooring, sections feature their Cranberry and Transcribe colourways mimicking Codemasters branded colours and offering an element of wayfinding throughout the open space.

Back-to-back Pyramid Steel desking was specified with mounted screen dividers upholstered in fabric consisting of 100% recycled PET. All workstations include above and under desk power modules which feed into umbilical cable management systems for both safety and aesthetic purposes.

Divided by a suspended decorative and sound-absorbing acoustic wall divider, crafted from 100% recycled PET, their social area features a newly fully fitted tea point. The unit fronts contrast between a deep blue and grey oak finish which stand out nicely against the concrete effect laminate counter and white matte chevron tiling. Codemasters’ branding is again cleverly noted in the red and black framework of the specified breakout table stools.

Alongside ceiling works, partitioning and soundbloc layering, our works to the new gymnasium included the supply and fit of Burmatex carpet tiles in jet black, cherry red and coal grey to highlight the different zones and workout stations within the space.

Suspended acoustic panels featuring bespoke laser cut designs were specified to create a semi-permanent space division to the first-floor open office space. Statement and on-brand digitally printed wall graphics, such as ‘supporter’ silhouettes, checkered racing flag detailing and a celebration of their BAFTA, feature to the outside walls and partitioning. An all-white 3D Air Fix acts as a boundary between the office space and the newly fitted tea point.

The flexible collaborative / scrum area is differentiated by the change in floor tiles to Interface’s LVT and an acoustic panelled central band, which surrounds the wall hung TV, is fitted to the perimeter. A mixture of high and low level tables and stools were specified to provide employees autonomy over where and how different tasks take place. The alternating black and red framework to Frovi’s Relic stools seen to the ground floor’s breakout zone is carried through to this space, providing a cohesive branding experience within the physical space.

Our works also included the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke seating booths inclusive of ‘net’ acoustic feature screens. Codemasters’ statement red is seen in the upholstered back and seat pads which makes a bold statement against the dark grey desking, wall paint and collection of suspended lamps.

Our project has provided Codemasters’ with a fully agile workplace that boasts a great focus on employee wellbeing and visitor experience. The clever use of colours, graphics and 3D designs really brings their brand to life. To find out more about the project and furniture specified, please contact Ultimate.
